- Angelito So <lito@panix.com> asked:
-
- > Also why is it so much more expensive then what I could buy for my
- > AMIGA? Isn't the AMIGA stand alone verson like $600-$700?
-
- I answered with a somewhat tongue-in-cheek list of alternative reasons.
- David Ingebretsen (dingebre@xmission.com) then pointed out:
-
- > The Amiga price for 4.0 is the same as for SGI, PC, or Dec Alpha.
- > Lightwave 4.0 will be the same price on all platforms, including
- > Amiga; $995 list.
- > You're right, a difference of $0.00 isn't much higher...
-
- I detect a pattern. But I understood "what I could buy for my AMIGA"
- to mean standalone 3.5, the price of which is half what will reportedly
- be charged for 4.0. Since 4.0 probably isn't twice as good, the price
- difference must reflect the marketplace on the new platforms--which is
- what I tried to say the first time.
